The principals of both applications are very similar however there are differences between the processes.
Resin bound is generally laid between 12-18 mm thick, depending on your aggregate size. The added thickness gives the material more strength and can
cover a more uneven surface, the finished surface is also smooth due to the trowelled finish. But due to the extra aggregate used and the application
process the cost implications are higher.
Resin Bonded Gravel can be applied to a new surface or surfaces that are of good sound condition. It is a process where resin is applied to the existing
surface then your chosen aggregate is applied. The resin glues the stone in place but the coarseness of the aggregate is apparent in the finished surface,
due to less material being used and the application process the cost implications are slightly lower.
